Having the ability to search for a Contact (like we can when creating a transaction) rather than scrolling down the lists would save a lot of time and avoid the possibility of creating a duplicate entry. Preferably the search would look for the search text anywhere in the Name Field. I appreciate that a workaround would be to filter on the name.
This feature exists in all list screens. Please see https://help.reckon.com/reckon-one/features/column-filters and was designed for this exact purpose and is not considered to be a workaround.
For a global type search feature please vote for this idea: https://ideas.reckon.com/ideas/RKN1-I-366
Cheers Gavin. Yes we tried the best we could to make it intuitive by changing the icon to a filter a while back. It's really hard without cluttering the column headers. We also added an AppCue to tell new users about filtering. We probably won't go with 3 search options and hence why I suggested the global search idea instead. We have created a PoC already and we think it will suit your purpose. Kind regards, Jason.
Yes - the ability to filter on a field does exist although its not very intuitive. I was proposing a search bar for a contact's name at the top of the lists, similar to what is offered when entering an invoice/bill, what is offered in packages like Hosted or basically any other program that shows a list of contact name to be managed.
So, this does not exist already but I appreciate that you are satisfied with the method provided.
As suggested I have put in my vote although I think it is possibly more complicated than what I was proposing.
