I am posting this in behalf of my customer:
I asked the question to our auditor and he advised me on the following way to set it up in payroll:
Create a new payroll item Called Exempt Foreign Source Income
As a Regular Pay
To be posted to Payroll expenses as normal
Use tax tracking type “Exempt foreign employment income”
Untick PAYG tax and also untick State payroll tax and untick super
Select finish
Can it be set up in ReckonOne as per the above way to ensure it will flow through to the ATO?
EFI is critical to our organization, otherwise we cannot proceed. Our employees are Australian Citizens who are working overseas for part or the full Financial year. They are being paid by our sister company and we need to report this income on their behalf as this will affect their tax lodgments to ATO.
We are interesting in investing money into having this developed if your developers can do it.
Please let me know.
Thank you
Peri
Hi Peri,
Unfortunately no reckon payroll product has supported EFI and it is therefore unlikely we'd introduce this into our Reckon One product given our target market is small business.
In the future, as we roll out an ADVANCED payroll product we'd definitely revisit then, however in the short-term our roadmap is pretty set for the next 12 months in terms of developer resources with some exciting features and user interfaces that are targeted at our broader customer base.
