Ability to upload a document to Reckon and Reckon to create the transaction

With the document storage, we now have the ability to attach a bill to a transaction once we recorded it in Reckon One. Other accounting packages give the ability to add bills to an In Tray and then it uses advanced Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology to identify key information in the document, speeding up transaction entry by filling in what it can for you. You then just need to check the details that have been filled for you, complete the remaining details and click Record. The transaction is recorded and the document is attached to it. In other accounting packages this is also available for Spend Money Transactions. This would be useful and a time saver if available in Reckon.

Hi Trish. Knowing the development work involved I can rule out this being included in the current MEDIUM module. The idea itself has merit and it's definitely something we have talked about - a lot in fact - so it's more about how we make it happen at a competitive price for our existing user base. As an example, the leading receipt capture add-on in AU charges $15/mth per user with a limit of 50 transactions.

    Hi Jason,

I don't think we would want to pay extra for it - I just wandered if it was being considered given we now have the ability to upload documents. Other organisations with a greater number of transactions may be willing to pay more for the functionality.

Would it be possible to just upload documents to an in-tray for later saving to transactions? Given we can currently only save them after the transaction is created, we save them elsewhere until the transaction is created.

    Regards,

    Trish

Hi Trish, to help us evaluate this functionality how much would you pay for it per month? nb. we are a low cost solution - competitors who have this functionality as significantly more expensive than Reckon One.
