This is useful for all the other products that we want to be migrated into Reckon One, such as our own products and those of competitors.
A business can have a designated primary contact person.
In Reckon One currently, there is no facility for this.
When a contact is set as a 'business' type, it only has the Business Name and Display Name fields available.
When a contact is set as an 'individual' type, it has the First Name, Last Name and Display Name fields available.
Now available via the new 'contacts' options.
@david. No unfortunately this is not simple as the UI (user interface) uses a bit of magic to appear like those fields exist.
Update:
We have started the design work. It's not a simple task as we will be introducing the concept of a contact to a business. This will allow a customer or supplier (or employee) to have many contacts. This solves the other issue of not being able to email different people connected to a customer or supplier eg. You want customer invoices to go to a specific physical address or email address (say accounts payable) that isn't your customer contact for day to day communications. Again it's a matter of priorities and with only limited votes we have the unpopular task of de-prioritising work that is lower down on our customer's own priorities. Regards, Jason.
Agree totally, incomprehensible.
Why is the Customer contact name field still available for addition onto invoices? The field is there in the company details. This surely is a simple change to make to the output template system. I do not comprehend why it should take years to decide on. Every CRM I have ever seen has the capacity to identify a contact person for a company. Just get it done already...
Is this going to be set up any time soon? What a huge oversight!
I am also finding that I am editing the email every time a send an invoice - not just the name but it would be helpful to be able to include the reference field as part of the text so the client can easily understand what the email relates to without opening the invoice.
Hi Rhonda. We are wanting to redesign the contacts interface completely, and have commenced a review internally. I'll update this status to 'under consideration'.
The first name field should then be the feed for the email salutation. The current situation is very sterile, so I have to manually change it every time.
