When preparing an invoice, the amount of characters you are able to type into the 'SUBURB' box is limited to 13. I would like this extended if possible so my longer suburbs are not cut off as they don't fit in the box!
Hi Jacki, the other option is to use a custom field on the customer record. I am not sure if this data is static or changes per invoice? Either way it will work. You just need to make sure you change the data in the invoice screen every time (as the previous data will be saved on the customer record so will pre-populate the invoice every time). ** The best way to add a site address is to use JOBS and that way you can ultilise the project (Job Description) field.
I got quite excited about this reply... however I already utilise the "other" box for the site address. Is there another field I can try that has more characters?
Hi Jacki, ok that makes sense now. You threw me referring to the SUBURB field. Of course, FOB (free on board) is for the purpose of entering the origin, so makes sense you are using this for the suburb. I would recommend utilising the OTHER field on the template for this purpose, as it allows 29 characters (FOB was designed to use an abbreviation or code - noting this was done by the original builders of the software and not the current Reckon team). It's unlikely we'll extend FOB as changing character limits can have wide-reaching effects in our software that we prefer to minimise if there are alternatives.
Below is an example of using OTHER. You'll then need to position this on the invoice template. Please let me know if this is suitable as a workaround?
Hi Jacki, is this by chance a custom field / data field on the template designer that isn't meant to be "Suburb" by default? Go into the template designer for that invoice template, right click on the data field you have for suburb, and select Properties and share that here. I have an example below.
I have attached a blank copy of my invoice and typed into the suburb box "Victoria Point"... however I can't type the t on the end of point because I have run out of characters. Please let me know if you need any further clarification, or if you have a magical solution which I can implement :)
Hi Jacki, the suburb field can hold many more characters than 13. Could you provide more detail for us to review. eg. Is this the suburb box for customers, or the suburb box on your invoices, or something else? Any screenshots you could provide would be appreciated.

Hi Jason
Yes this is correct and your example below is exactly what mine is set at. The data field is for FOB though.
