Average cost for inventory
The only way I can see the current value of inventory items is to run an Inventory Valuation Detail Report. Can you please allow the "Avg. Cost" field to be selected for other inventory reports?
Can you please provide the ability to show the "Avg. Cost" field on the Item List screen?
Can the "Avg. cost" field be renamed to "Current cost" because that would be more appropriate?
Hi Paul, thanks for the feedback. For item #3, the average cost is actually the average cost... the current cost is the last cost paid (or current supplier list price). In the example below, the last price paid (net) for diesel was $1.21511, however the average price paid over the lifetime of buying diesel is $1.25775. The average is calculated by the system and hence why it is read only.
There shouldn't be any reason why the average cost isn't available on other reports or in the list screen, so we'll leave those as an open idea.
