Fixed assets register

Surprisingly Reckon is lacking a fixed assets module allowing to record each FA item with all of the required information for automatic calculation of depreciation for a selected period to allow for the recording of the corresponding journal entry for depreciation expense and accumulated depreciation. What you have at the moment is obsolete and less than an adequate process for this purpose. I called customer support today - after days exploring and testing what it is in the system -and they confirmed Reckon doesn't have what we need.

It seems that this idea was suggested about 2 years ago and has been ignored. This would be one strong reason for my company to migrate to another accounting software.

    There is also lack of FA item list and asset accounts connections. There should be a link between both as it duplicates the work (by entering and disposing assets manully on FA item list and then entering journal/invoice/bill) .

    Hi Marcos. I can't seem to find another IDEA for asset management for Reckon Accounts > could you please let me know the idea number?

    For Reckon Accounts desktop we have had an asset management add-on for many years. A free trial is available at https://www.reckon.com/au/trial-downloads/free-trial-asset-manager/ - unfortunately this does not integrate with reckon Accounts Hosted directly. It will however sync with a local copy and we can provide a free desktop version for all Hosted users.
