Functionality already exists within the product to review and amend cost prices, however this may have been disabled in your company file. There are also two primary ways to update the sell price there and then, although these currently require some manual intervention.
In a BILL, when you enter an item the cost price that shows is the current cost price in your item list. If you override this price you will receive a request to update the item cost with the new price.
If you do not see this option, cost price adjustments have been disabled. You then need to Bring back all one time messages via your settings.
To update the sell price for any changed items (those where you get the cost warning), copy the full item name from the bill and search the item list (available on Premier and Enterprise versions).
Open the item and change the sell price.
The second option is to use the Customers > Change item price window however this is best used when you stick to specific margins on cost prices. Eg. If fuel is always cost + 20%.
We will mark this Idea as Will not implment as there is a method in place. However if enough users comment on this idea over time we will definitely re-open.
No problem and thanks for the response. To make it a bit easier, you can add columns to the standard ITEMS window by right-clicking the column header > Customise Columns...
Then add relevant columns such as Gross Price and Gross Cost
Finally you can always export the list to Excel and then run a formula to provide the gross margin - this is something I personally did in retail stores with Reckon Accounts as Excel was fast to search and you could use filters to filter out unnecessary categories (parent items) or margins. eg Only show where margins are less than 30% AND where the parent item = category A.
Thank you I do realise all of that but I thought as I enter it in the Bill / by item entry it would be good if (within that window) I could click and it would bring up, that items details so I could check the sale price aswell or amend then also. Instead of going out of that window then seperatley looking for that item and amending if I want to change the selling price.

Thank you so much for clarifying your process. This functionality does already exist to a degree, so I will therefore make a note in the ADMIN RESPONSE section of this idea for you to review.
As I check all our pricing as we have a lot of suppliers who constantly change their pricing.. if I had acces to a double click into that item when enetering the bill, I could also check and amend the selling price from that one entry. Instead of going to items and then checking it which is very time consuming. thanks
