Delete multiple accounts in list of chart of accounts

When setting up a new company the list of chart of accounts is extensive, many remain inadvertently ticked. Once company is set up the process to remove each unwanted chart of accounts in the list is laborious & time consuming as can only select one at a time. Would like ability to select multiple lines and choose delete or de-activate the group.

    Due to the architecture of the application is it unlikely we will be able to offer this improvement. 

    However, we can offer a 'best practice' suggestion when creating a new company that will allow you to avoid this in future.

    During the company set-up interview, select Other/None for your industry type. 

    Also select Other/None for your company organisation (legal structure).

    This will ensure the company file is created with no Chart of Account items (or at worst, a very limited number based on your interview answers. eg 2 - 6). 

    Once in the application, open the chart of accounts and import your desired chart via Excel. 

     

    Alternatively, if you have an existing company, you can create a template by exporting the Chart of Account as an IIF file (or as an excel by running a list report), editing it, and importing that file into the new company. See File > Utilities > Export/Import
