The ability to achieve this already exists.
Open the customer / supplier centre > right-click on the Name column > select Customise columns... > select Last Name from the Available Columns list > Add it to the Chosen Column list > click OK.
You can now SORT the list by the Last Name column.
This can be repeated for any required columns that appear in the Available Column list.
