Unfortunately we will not be implementing additional search functionality on top of the Customer Centre > Customer Field > Phone field search and the Find > Phone field search.
For this to work correctly the format of the phone numbers in your customer list and your search format must be identical. ie. 0499 000111 and 0499000111 are not the same string and hence will not match.
Another, possibly faster method, is to save your contacts to a pdf, and use your pdf tool's search function. Note that the same matching issues may still exist depending on your tools advanced search options.
