please allow dates to be recognized with dots as well as /

i use the number pad to enter numbers and it is much much much easier to use . instead of / when entering dates as in 29.7.2020. Please allow this to be recognized as a date instead of insisting on 29/7/2020. or even allow 29072020 to be recognized as a date - like Reckon Elite tax software does. Please
