option to manually insert dates Merged

At the moment we have to find a date using the calendar. I have dates from the year 2000 to insert (eg start employment date & start super fund date). Why am I having to go back month by month for 20 years to get the date I want put in. I'm just going back to 2017 and putting that. It's incorrect and hoping for no repercussions.
